Spotweld Models for Advanced High Strength Steels

Boron Steel

Boron steels are UltraHigh-Strength steels, with yield strengths well over 1000 MPa. Typical grades in automotive applications have yield point of about 1300 to 1400 MPa. That is about four times stronger than typical high strength steel.

Boron steel is usually used in the door intrusion beams and gussets in the pillars for reinforcement.
